Inspired by the hand painted signs around Marrkesh. A big part of inspiration of my work generally has evolved from old vintage signs. I love the worn away texture and the very human element of a hand made sign, the imperfection is what make it so great - especially in a fast moving digital world. 

This particular one was 'Teleboutique' an old telephone store, I wanted to paint a young man twirling his hand around the phone cord, a little playful invitation to 'come pick up the phone in here'. I found these so interesting, a store which would of been wildly popular with phone booths and as a cyber cafe with such an interesting sign that now may be overlooked.
